Evelyn Blayton Taplin entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 7, 2017 at the age of 89. Evelyn was the devoted wife of the late Clarence Taplin, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, children Antoinette Verrett, Lola Verrett Parks (Walter) of Ocala, Florida, Nola Verrett, Michael Verrett (Barbara), Clarence Taplin, Jr., Sylvester Taplin, Ricky Walker (Bridgett) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Corine Ward (John) of Opelousas, Louisiana, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends of LockHeed Martin, Lower 9th Ward Senior Center, Touro Infusion Center and Southeast Louisiana Home Health Agency are invited to attend the Celebration of Life service honoring Mrs. Evelyn B. Taplin, on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 9 A.M., at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana, 70117. Visitation begins at 8 A.M.
