John  Polk Sr.
John Polk, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the age of 85. He was the second child of the late Robert Polk, Sr. and the late Gertrude Netter Polk. Beloved husband of Audrey Polk. Father of Lynette Aperwhite and John Polk, Jr. and Father-in-Law of Willie Aperwhite and Valerie Polk. Brother of Mary Moore, Margie Leslie, Orelia Keys and David Polk. Brother-in-Law of Jimmie Leslie and George Keys and Sister-in-Law of Survery Polk. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Ahmad Polk, Tiffany and Bryson Aperwhite, Jonathan and Colin Johnson, 2 great-grandchildren, Gavin Polk and Austin Aperwhite, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also the staff of EGAN Home Health and Hospice, Pastors and members of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church and Priests and parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe are invited to attend the Home Going Celebration on Friday, March 9, 2018, for 10:00 a.m. at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117. Rev. Sam Young, Jr. officiating. Visitation: 9:00 a.m. Services: 10:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum.
