Obituary for Luverda (Leotha) Perkins (Favorite)

Luverda (Leotha) Favorite Perkins a native of Edgard, LA and resident of New Orleans, entered into her Master's hand on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the age of 82. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons Walter Populis, Sr. (Annie Mae), Wayne Populis (Brenda), Michael Populis (Diana) and one daughter Jill Zeringue. Seven sisters Margaret Henderson, Shirley Grows, Geraldine Boose, Vivian Chopin (Lester), Marion Lewis, Josephine Jackson, Annie Mae Lewis, and one brother Larry Favorite (Claudette). Nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Luverda is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Samuel Sr. and Virginia Favorite, husband Delma Perkins, one son Calvin Populis Sr., one daughter Julie Perkins, two grandchildren Calvin Populis Jr. and Corey Populis Sr., three sisters Brenette Jasmin, Mary Ann and Bernice Favorite, and two brothers Joseph Favorite and Samuel Favorite Jr. Relatives, friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Pilgrim Rest Baptist and Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church are invited to attend the Celebration of Life honoring Luverda Perkins at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 2498 Flood Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation begins at 9:00 A.M. Interment, Mount Olivet Mausoleum, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Rev. Dr. Dilton Robertson, Pastor, Officiating.
