Obituary for Eva Lois Perry-Adams (Issacc)

Eva "Tee Eva" Lois Perry- Adams, born on September 12, 1934 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Louise Perry and Henry Isacc, passed away at age 83 on June 7, 2018 in University Hospital. She attended Carver High School in Hahnville, Louisiana. She was an entrepreneur at Tee Eva's Pies and Pralines. Eva was married to the late Lawrence Calvin Johnson, Sr. Later she married Louis Adams. She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Calvin Johnson, Jr.; brother, Jack Ranies Perry; sister, Mildred Rue Melonson; nieces, Margaret McCarthy and Patricia Melonson; and nephew, Nolan Melonson, Jr. Eva is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Dale Johnson- Thornton (Raynall); grandchildren, Keonna R. Thornton, Kiarra T. Gibson (Keith), and Master Sergeant Raynall J. Thornton, Jr (Dayna); nieces, Louise Stepter, Dorothy White, and Gloria Johnson and the host of great grandchildren to include the Batiste family. Eva enjoyed cooking, dancing and singing in the choir. She was an usher at Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Church. Friends and family can pay their respects at the visitation, officiated by Pastor Gilbert R. Washington, Jr., on Saturday, June 16 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Church, 2012 Washington Ave., New Orleans, Louisiana, 70113. Following that, there will be a funeral service, at 10:00 a.m. at Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Church.
