Sylvia Marie Green was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, and was called to heaven at the age of 81 on Friday, August 3, 2018. She was born on December 29, 1936, to the late Louise Young Green and Joseph Green. Sylvia attended St. Peter Claver Elementary School and Joseph S. Clark Senior High School. Sylvia is survived by her sisters Julia Green-Martinez (Rudolph Martinez) and Barbara Bowman (Augustus) of San Jose, California. Sylvia was preceded in death by her siblings Melvin Green (Mildred), Marion Gayles (Eugene), Albert Green (Lorraine), Louis Green (Audrey), Waldon Green (Ruby), Orlando Green. She was also preceded in death by her lifelong companion, Louis Villa. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maria Goretti Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70127, on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 11:00 A.M.
