God, in His infinite wisdom sent His angels to welcome his gracious child, Doris Charles Bernard home to rest on Sunday, September 23, 2018; at the age of 79. Doris Charles Bernard was born on March 6, 1939 to the late Kimbro and Viola Charles in Adeline, Louisiana. She was the wife of Alexis Bernard, proud mother of C. B. Crossley, Jr. (Zina), Patrice V. Colbert (Wilbert), Clifton Clark, Jr., Gail Marie Barcliff, Barbara Taylor and the late Terrence L. Crossley. Wonderful grandmother of Youlika Charles, Essencie Green, Quentin Barcliff, Destiny Barcliff, Brittney Madison, Christopher Crossley, DeShawn Crossley, Shemella George, Julius Franklin, with 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother - Enos Charles; four sisters - Rosa Buford (Albert), Shirley Williams, Lorena Jones (Melvin), Nettie Waters. Devoted niece - Odette Charles, Godchild - Virginia Nell Isaac, two devoted neighbors - Sonya Jacobs and Dexter Wilmore, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Relatives and friends of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Marine/ Mt. Moriah Community Church and all neighboring churches, are invited to attend the Home Going Celebration on Saturday, September 29, 2018; 10:00 A.M. at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church 2200 Kenner Avenue, Kenner, Louisiana - Rev. Leroy A. Taylor, Pastor and Rev. Donald L. Robinson Officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Interment at Providence Memorial Park.
