Mercedes McPherson Jackson, entered into eternal rest on September 30, 2018 at Passages Hospice at the age of 85. She was a native of Houma, LA and resided in New Orleans for the last sixty years. Mercedes was Daughter of the late, Helen Adams McPherson and Austin McPherson Sr. Wife of the late Rudolph Jackson, mother of Ray Anthony. Grandmother of Imani Mercedes and Kourtney Monique. Sister of the late James (Johnnie Mae) McPherson Freddie, Edward (Corrine), Ben Adams (Laura) and Clarence Adams (Vera), Roland Charles (deceased)(Deborah), Donald McPherson, Carolyn J. M. Wells (Clarence), Douglas (deceased)(Martha), Lionel (deceased), Austin Jr.(deceased), Janice (Marvin), Anthony (Tomellar), Roy (WillieBee). Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pastor, officers and members and friends of Mt. Hermon Baptist, Emmanuel Baptist, Little Zion Baptist Church III, New St. Matthews Baptist Church, State Dept. of Public Health/DHH, Lafon Nursing Home, and Passages Hospice of New Orleans are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 2153 N Broad Street, New Orleans, LA 70119, on Saturday October 6, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. Visitation begins at 8:30 A.M. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
