Corey Holmes, Sr., (DJ Coe), peacefully departed this earthly life on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the age of 38, surrounded by loving family and friends. Corey was a true RAM at heart and represented his school, George Washington Carver with much respect. Son of James Atkins and Gail Holmes. Proud and devoted father of two wonderful boys Corey Holmes, Jr. (CJ) and Cameron Holmes (Cam). Loving brother of Erica Brooks (Wil), Jamika Atkins, Bryan Holmes, James Lee (Nukka), Ashley Holmes and loving uncle of Paisely Lee and Parker Brooks. Corey also leaves a host of other relatives and is preceded in death by his wife Samatra Holmes, maternal and paternal grandparents. Relatives, friends, Staff and Classmates of G.W. Carver Jr., Sr., High School are invited to attend the Celebration of Life honoring Corey (DJ Coe) Holmes, on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA. 70116. Visitation beginning at 9:00 AM and service following at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Roses. Interment Private.
