Obituary for Margie "Margie" Taplin (Daniels)

Marjorie "Margie" Daniels Taplin, Wife of the late Edward Taplin, was born to the union of the late Monroe and Elvira Newton Daniels in Centreville, MS. Mrs. Taplin was a graduate of Alcorn A&M College. She was a faithful member of Winans Chapel CME Church in Centerville where she served as a deaconess, usher and worked in the churches finance department. She taught in the Wilkinson County School System in Centreville, MS and later moved to the New Orleans area where she joined Christian Community Baptist Church and served as a deaconess, usher and worked in their finance department as well. She taught at Ella Dolhonde Elementary in Metairie, LA from 1973 to 1999. In later years, Mrs. Taplin returned to Centreville MS and rejoined her original church home, Winans Chapel CME Church. Survivors include her children, Tyronne (Kiyonna) and Annika (Israel); siblings, Bessie Perry and Douglas Mars; grandchildren, Donnell and Issac; sister and brother in law, Addie Daniels and Carl Van Norman; Godchildren, Sierra Brown and Veda Payton; adopted children, Larry and Linda Lee. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, her church families and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Taplin was also preceded in death by siblings, O.J., Will, Monroe, Edward, Isaac, Helen, Asilee, Lucille, Ethel and Earline. Relatives and friends of the family; Pastor, Officers and members of Winans Chapel CME Church of Centreville MS and all other neighboring churches; Christian Community Baptist Church of New Orleans, LA are invited to attend the service. A Funeral will be held at Winans Chapel CME Church, 409 Church Street, Centreville, MS on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11 AM. Interment Mt. Zion CME Church Cemetery, Centreville, MS. Visitation 10 AM IN THE CHURCH.
