Dolores Darensbourg White departed this earthly life and entered into eternal life on January 17, 2024. She was born in Dallas, Texas on Mach 21, 1945 to the union of Percy Joseph Darensbourg and Barbara Darensbourg, Her marriage to Melvin J. White II produced five
children: Melvin III, Christopher, Delisha, Janine and Daniel; grandchildren, Christopher II, Alex, Kate, Sasha, Mia, Lauren, Ryan, Justin, Daniel II, Jordan and Zoe; and great grandchildren, Christopher III and Celine. She is survived by her sisters, Sr. Rita Darensbourg, Labertha McCormick and Wanda Proctor; brothers, Don Darensbourg, Byron Darensbourg and Jerome Bias. She is also survived many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her sister, Catrea Rushing. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Xavier University and taught for 20 years in the New Orleans Public School System. She served in ministry, was a lector, and a Holy Communion Minister. She was also a member of The Sisters of the Holy Family Association. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul Apostle Catholic Church, 6828 Chef Menteur Hwy. New Orleans, LA. 70126 on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Visitation at 9:00AM. Interment: Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA. 70003. Due to COVID variants, facemask and social distancing encouraged.
