Gertrude Decou Brulee, a New Orleans native, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the age of 95. She was the devoted wife of the late Emanuel Rene Brulee, Jr. of 50 plus years and loving mother of Eraina B. Shorty and her late son, Emanuel Rene Brulee, III. She took great pride in creating and maintaining a happy and nourishing home for her family. Gertrude leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Eraina B. Shorty; granddaughter, Angelique S. (Joe) Belisle; and great-grandson, Devin J. Belisle. Also, two sisters, Marion G. Starck and Sylvania G. (George) Stokes; god-children: Novetta, Chad, and Travis Stokes, her caregiver Eleanor Everett, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by siblings, Cora D. Washington, Louise D. Borden, Willie, Henry, Arthur, Leon, and Gilbert Decou. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Raymond-St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2916 Paris Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119, on Monday, February 19, 2018, at 10:00 A.M.
