Obituary for Joseph A Haines Sr.

Joseph A  Haines Sr.
Mr. Joseph A. Haines Sr., born February 21, 1929 in New Orleans, La, to the late Lola Marrero Haines and the late George Haines, entered into eternal rest at age 89 on Thursday, July 5, 2018. Joseph served in the United States Army from May 16, 1946 to May 6, 1948 and received an Honorable Discharge. Joseph worked at the United States Postal Service for over 30 years as a Postal Clerk/Technician in various departments until retirement. He also carried on the family legacy as an expert shoe repairman and shoemaker as well as working numerous other part time jobs. Joseph was the beloved husband of Audrey Owens Haines for 69 years; and will be lovingly missed by his wife and sons Joseph Haines, Jr (Regina) and David Haines (Yolanda); daughters, Pamala Bridges, Judy Haines (Benjamin), Rhonda Lastie (David), Sheila Dickerson (Kevin), and niece Carolyn F. Miller (Harlin) who they adoringly raised; grandchildren, Joseph III, Nicholas, Nathan, Jamaya, David III, Jarad, Ariell, Devin, Zoe, Harlin Jr., Nia, Charlyn, Jamall, and Allana and all of their spouses; along with twelve great-grandchildren. Joseph is also survived by his baby sister Lucille Caesar now residing in Austin, Texas and a host of other family, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Haines; and sisters May Marsh, Lola Perrier, and Evelyn Nichols. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service with Military Funeral Honors on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantam College Road, Slidell, LA, 70460.
